Privacy Policy

Gaia is operated by Argus Technology Corporation. This explains what we collect, where it goes, and what we do not do with it. It is short because the service collects little.

What we collect

The questions you ask. A question is the whole input to the service, so we necessarily process it. Questions of the form “what happens if we do X” are often commercially sensitive, and the section below on model providers is the important one for that reason.

Ordinary technical data. Our hosting provider logs the usual request information, including IP address, browser, and pages requested. We use it to keep the service running and to detect abuse.

An access cookie, if the instance you are using is password gated. It stores a derived token rather than the password itself, so the password is never held in your browser. It is strictly necessary for access and is not used for analytics.

We do not run advertising trackers, we do not sell data, and we do not build profiles of visitors.

Where your panels are stored

Panels are held in your own browser, in local storage, so a refresh does not throw the work away. They are not kept on our servers. Clearing your browser data removes them, and we cannot recover them for you.

Generated portraits, audio and video are hosted by the providers that create them and are reachable by anyone holding the link for as long as that provider keeps it. Treat those links as public.

Model providers

Running a panel means sending your question, and text derived from it, to third-party model providers. Specifically:

• OpenRouter, which routes the text generation. We restrict routing to United States providers, require zero-data-retention endpoints, and refuse providers whose policy permits retaining or training on prompts. If no provider satisfies all of that, the request fails rather than quietly falling back to a weaker one. We do not send any end-user identifier with these requests.
• Alibaba Cloud Model Studio, for portraits and video. Content inspection and retention are disabled on both the request and the response.
• Fish Audio, for speech synthesis of a persona’s answer.
• fal, which hosts generated audio so the video model can reach it.

Each provider handles data under its own terms. We have configured the strictest settings each one exposes, but we cannot make a promise on their behalf.

Training

We do not train models on your questions, and we have configured our providers to refuse endpoints that would. Simulated personas are generated fresh for each question and are not built from any customer’s data.

The people in a panel

Everyone Gaia generates is invented. Panels are not drawn from a database of real individuals, they do not contain anyone’s personal data, and they are not derived from personal records. A persona that resembles a living person does so by coincidence.

Retention

Server logs are kept for as long as our hosting provider retains them, and are used only for operating the service. Signed tokens that let the browser request media for a panel expire thirty minutes after the panel is created. Panels themselves live in your browser until you clear them.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of personal data we hold about you, and to object to it or ask for it in portable form. In practice we hold very little: no accounts, no profiles, and no panel history on our side. Write to us and we will do what the law requires.

Transfers

We and our providers operate in the United States, so using Gaia involves transferring data there. Where the law requires a transfer mechanism, we rely on the standard contractual clauses our providers offer.

Children

Gaia is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We will update this page as the product changes, and the date at the top shows when it last moved.
